Japan - Part 1 "Crazy Tokyo"

January 7th
Tokyo

Navigating the city of Tokyo is not that hard but very time consuming. Day one and we managed only 3 sites, Meiji Shrine, for a bit of culture,  Tokyo International Forum, for a bit of modern architecture and thirdly, Tokyo Dome City for a bit of fun. The metro system is very efficient, just takes longer than what you'd expect if you have to change trains, mainly getting from platform A to B in the same station. I'm amazed any of the buildings above ground stay standing with the rabbit warren of intricate rail systems below ground!

The forum was disappointing as the ceiling was undergoing some maintenance during our visit so we couldn't quite see through to the top.

Tokyo Dome City (where the baseball games are held) homes the famous "Thunderdolphin" rollercoaster, giant ferris wheel and a myriad of other rides and arcade games for all ages.

Every night at 5pm there is a light show and there were still all the illuminations on display from Christmas.
