Macetown: Day 4 of our Photograph New Zealand trip.
Macetown is an abandoned gold mining town with only remnants of any civilisation here.
It once was a thriving metropolis (well for back then anyway...) today you can see some old stone walls, a couple of basic houses still standing, and remnants of stamp batteries where the processing went on. Its a beautiful place, well worth the rough drive in.
It was near this house that we found some granny smith apples growing on a nearby tree - they were so yummy! Fresh as, no chemicals or fertilisers here, just how apples used to taste!!
