Day 3 - Singapore
Another one for the kids pretty much, back to Sentosa Island.
Firstly did the S.E.A Aquarium possibly the best one I have seen, consuming half the day with all sorts of exotic creatures. The best part was the massive carpeted room with the biggest fish tank view! I would have been bigger then the cinema screens at the movies and there was 3 or 4 levels of carpet floor where you could simply lay down for some awesome viewing therapy. You could also lay right in front of the foot thick glass to get as close as possible to the action. There were two massive mantra rays as well as all other types of rays, hammerheads, shovel nose sharks and countless species of fish. We possibly spent an hour here just relaxing. Highly recommended.
The rest of the day was spent navigating Sentosa in search of amusements, had a go at segways (quite finicking to get the hang of) did a downhill luge run, and a couple of other 4D adventure ride simulators which were average at best. The whole place felt a little dated and I would not have been surprised to see Gilligan and the Professor pop out from behind a palm tree (for a $5 photo of course). Those who were not kids in the seventies will not get this.
Oh and nearly forgot, every time you went on ANYTHING you had to stand in front of a green screen and have the family photograph taken, and as you disembarked they were there waving the quickly photoshopped print, nicely mounted in a folder, with the background of the ride/event you just completed. They were cheap to buy, but after about 20 of these we started to get inventive with our poses, which we never bought and are now probably posted on some bizarre website called "weird things people do in group photos". We were happy to leave Sentosa at the end of the day.
Dinner at Pind Balluchi and Indian restaurant at Clarke Quay, 5 stars! Possibly the best indian food ever.
Clarke Quay alive and kicking at night
