Day 4 - Singapore
Marina Bay Sands
4 main things to see here are the MBS itself, the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and the Supertree Grove. A good day out.
Tip: taxis are very cheap in Singapore, and because there was 4 of us it was cheaper to taxi than to subway and it got you from our motel right to the door, no extra walking to/from subway. Most of our taxis cost between 5 and 8 dollars.
Marina Bay Sands is a massive expensive motel with an arcade of designer shops running underneath complete with ice skating rink and gondola boat rides taking you from one end of the shops to the other. If you want to buy a quarter of a million dollar watch, you come here to shop.
We went up the super fast lift to the rooftop "surfboard" for the view.

Supertree Grove is fantastic. These architectural "trees" or vertical gardens aid in producing the energy required to supply the MBS Gardens as they are fitted with photovoltaic cells and also collect rainwater (and there was an abundance of that). There are 18 of them throughout the gardens and the cluster of 12 in the middle have a skywalk and a nightly light show. We did the skywalk but decided to return another night for the light show.

Flower Dome and Cloud Forest were awesome! Spent a good 2 hours in the latter and maybe one in the former. Outside temps were about 30 degrees and around 60-80 percent humidity so walking into this, fully air conditioned pretty much made our day! Both are massive glass structures hosting a huge variety of plants, waterfalls and representing different flora from around the world. My fav was the cactus garden with its baobabs and all things prickly. The kids loved it here too.
