Hiroshima and Miyajima

Hiroshima
At 8am August 6 1945 an atomic bomb was released 600m above the city of Hiroshima by the US Air Force. The bomb (nicknamed Little Boy) destroyed almost everything in the city instantly. This building, called the atomic dome, still stands today in the Peace Memorial Park at Hiroshima.
That afternoon after visiting the museum we ferried across to Miyajima Island to see the famous Tori Shrine.
